I want to offer a brief caution of anyone who might be out to get their ARC card anytime soon. Actually on many blogs I had read, it mentioned that getting an ARC card can take all day, whether or not you had an online reservation – though I do suggest you get one as it can knock off an hour or so.

Lately I have been practicing saving face and cut off all contact method of dealing with anger and stresses. To cut or not to cut ties? I don’t particularly get angry often but when I do it becomes pretty obvious through my sarcastic comments towards the individual, but these days if I get angry, I am trying to just cut all ties before they do. Not very good at it.
I used to think it was merely my imagination taking hold of me or overgeneralizing a culture but it really does seem to part of Korean and Japanese culture and finally I have come across a post where someone feels the same way!

Engrish can be quite entertaining but sometime you come across a few things that really make you go “whaa.” My first visits to Korea and Japan were just like this, but even then there were certain things I would pick up on watching movies or Anime like this video of Dragonball at 1:00 Dragonball intro before going abroad.
Notice the 666 on his car? I did when I was little, and it wasn’t the only time I came across it because from time to time I would see the mark of the beast here or there, even someone with the t-shirt there in Japan. Keep readingKorean Pop Music…I was actually wondering in what angle I could write about this which might be different from the hundreds of blogs out there that talk about it already. Hopefully I won’t be shattering an stereotypes about the otaku style American crazed with Asian culture, trying to get an Asian gf, having Chinese characters tattooed and having an ipod full of J/K pop music.
Keep readingPlastic surgery boom as Asians seek ‘western’ look
By Kyung Lah, CNN
“They are making a statement about their own race, about where they came from and who they are, but they are not doing in on purpose. They are not saying that they think they are inferior looking, they are not saying that they are ugly, but that’s the message they are giving nonetheless.”
I have to admit, I had no idea what a double eyelid was before I started getting into Korean culture. In fact I once offended one of my Korean friends because we were talking about who or what girl was prettier and I chose the one who didn’t have plastic surgery, of course I chose without knowing which one had surgery. We have different perceptions of beauty. “But don’t you care about their eyes?” I took a closer look, I thought she meant eye color. Then she got pissed.
