This is the third post regarding an introduction to video blogging, which covers: the basics of camera equipment, sound, editing programs, composition, angles, shots, cuts, and so on. This post will deal with some of the more important technicalities of cam equipment and although this section will be geared towards users with a camcorder, there is much overlapping with anyone who might be interested using a DSLR or any other type of recording device for the purpose of vlogging.
Everyone wants good looking video but the technical aspect may scare off a great deal of people from achieving greater quality when in fact, a boost in quality can be achieved with as simple as a touch of a button.

You really cannot underestimate the power of audio; it is just as important to have good sound as there is to have good video and as I mentioned in my last post regarding cams, video is 3/4 audio. Have you ever seen a video whose picture quality was pretty great, but for some reason or another you did not feel as if you would like to continue watching? More often than not, it may have been poor audio.
Although most cams, whether they be handhelds, phones, DSLRs, or camcorders, come with built in audio – no matter how much you may have paid for i investing in an external mic will ramp up the quality of your videos. For this to be possible though, you should be sure that whatever you are using to record contains external jacks for microphones. A slight inconvenience you may face while recording with anything but a camcorder is that most tend to record on mono tracks instead of stereo (more on this later). This can be an advantage though! If you are using audio editing software, it allows for cleaner cutting and mixing with background music, since you can change different levels of sound in case the background is too high.

It has come to my attention that the vlogging community in South Korea is much smaller in comparison to the amount of bloggers. I wish to offer some simple guidelines that can get people started in shooting video so that we may have a much larger community and information/entertainment for anyone interested.
Integration of video can be found on most any cell phone these days as well as cameras and even DSRL cameras come equipped for the ability to shoot HD video. Deciding on a camera can be pretty frustrating and can get more complicated when dealing with things like SD, 720 HD, 1280 HD, flash memory, hard drive camcorders, DV…
Here is a small post with information that may help you choose the camera that will fit your needs as a vlogger. Remember, just because someone uses an expensive camera to accomplish their needs does not mean you need it for what you may be doing.

So about this “Hallyu” Thing
Korean Pop Music…I was actually wondering in what angle I could write about this which might be different from the hundreds of blogs out there that talk about it already. Hopefully I won’t be shattering an stereotypes about the otaku style American crazed with Asian culture, trying to get an Asian gf, having Chinese characters tattooed and having an ipod full of J/K pop music.

Since a lot of hit on my website comes from the keywords “Asian – Short -Skirt,” I decided to make a followup post regarding Short skirts.
Everyone will tell you that Korea is very conservative – I call BULLSHIT!

It is all about the ratings when it comes to news, this is not something unique to one country, but when it comes to Sensationalism, America is really terrible at it. That is not to say that other countries don’t do it either, it is just that America has a way of turning events into themselves rather than the victims. You can take the nuclear disaster in Japan and how they choose to concentrate it affecting Hawaii and California rather than Japan and how antiradiation meds are flying off the shelves here, where they could actually be more useful when people need them.

The world of online communication and that of real life or academic is quite different in terms of writing and speaking. I have been using skype for quite a few years now, almost as early as it was introduced. In my time using it, I have met many people who are learning English and I had the pleasure of chatting with. There were some people who I met but for some reason, I did not like them so much, I was not so sure why, they seemed like nice people, but they had a kind of “attitude” that I wasn’t so fond of.
